~ Holidays ~ (part 2)

OK, on to my second New Year's Resolution. It's related to the first, but more personal and even more important.

New Year's Resolution #2
DEVELOP MY CREATIVITY

I've spent a lot of time over the past year reading different photographers' blogs, etc, and during this time have formulated the following thought about creativity:

*Creativity is an innate God-given characteristic that each of us possess
Each person is different. Which is why I laugh at the idea "be different." You already are! Instead, be even more you! This year I hope to explore the creativity that God has given me. I want to go deeper ~ think about what I value, how I see the world, how I interact with others, what's important to me and what's not. Then as a photographer, I want to pursue those values and ideas in my photographs. I believe each photo has the potential to become art when it is purposefully created by someone who grasps his/her own unique sense of beauty.

So this new year's resolution really has two parts. One entails a spiritual journey into understanding even more clearly who I am. The second part involves bringing that into everything I do, just one area being photography. When taking pictures, I hope to "overcome my nerves" so that I can connect to my creative sweet spot. In everything else, I hope to bless others more because I'm even more who God created me to be. :)
